Same-sex marriage comes to Colorado

The fight for same-sex marriage rights in Colorado took a decisive turn earlier this month. On July 10, a Boulder County judge issued a ruling that allowed the Boulder County Clerk to continue issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. So far this month the clerk's office has issued 123 licenses for same-sex couples.

But in a somewhat unexpected twist, he is also seeking sole custody of the child - a two-month-old girl - if he's determined to be the father.

When divorcing after 50, retirement accounts are a critical issue

The number of couples getting divorced after age 50 is climbing. According to the National Center for Family and Marriage Research in Ohio, since 1990 the divorce rate for that age group has doubled. For many Colorado spouses who are splitting up after a long marriage, retirement plans may have to be put on hold.
