For many parents, resolving child custody and child support battles can be emotional. Parents want assurances that they will continue to be able to spend as much time as possible with their children.

I am Shea Linn Burchill, and I represent clients throughout Longmont, Colorado and throughout Boulder, Weld and Larimer counties, in child custody and child support matters.

Child Custody

Child custody disputes are usually broken down into two main areas: parenting responsibility and parenting time. Parenting responsibility involves making decisions about how the child will be raised. This may include matters involving the child's health, religion, and schooling. Parenting time can be thought of as the place where the child physically spends his or her time.

All child custody matters are made based on what is in the child's best interest. I work with clients to protect their parental interests and seek as much parenting time as is possible.

Child Support

In Colorado, child support is determined based on certain guidelines from the state. When I work with clients, I am focused on ensuring that income is properly accounted. Some income is excluded from consideration, but I will insist that all relevant income be made a part of the calculation. I have experience handling requests for support when one or both parties have income from bonuses or rental income, and in instances of self-employment.

Temporary Orders, Final Orders and Post-Judgment Orders
